"Less is More" is a sort of concept album. It deals with the lies we tell ourselves and others and some of the reasons we do it along the way as we grow up and try to make better decisions. Songs range from straight-ahead rock to smooth funky disco. "Less is More" is also a very literal title since the multitude of sounds and artwork (with the exception of a cameo by his cat on "This Will End") are all produced by Whit himself in this solo debut...
"It's the songs I wrote as a 20-something produced by the same person, myself, as a 30-something. The songs were pretty much all there when I was in my 20s, but the older, wiser, 30s me was able to bring some healthy editing and production know-how to bring out the best in them. It took me a while to record it because as a 20-something I didn't have the equipment. Then as a 30-something I managed to piece it all together in my spare time over a period of 5 years or so. Life is painful, ridiculous and sometimes beautiful. I think I learned a lot and that's the experience I want to share with this record."
